| The Fairmont Glitter Bay and Royal Pavilion Resorts in St. James, Barbados were constructed in various stages over the past approximately 30 years. The design basis for the construction appears to be influenced by a standard of fire safety similar to that of the United Kingdom and/or the Caribbean.
R.J. Bartlett Engineering Ltd. completed an inspection of the properties following a review of drawings and a review of some model North American Building Codes as well as the existing Barbados Building Code. The mandate of R.J. Bartlett Engineering Ltd. was to provide a fire protection engineering opinion on fire safety for occupants based on the intent of model North American Building Codes and the existing Barbados Building Code.
