The design basis for the construction appears to be influenced by a standard of fire safety similar to that of the United Kingdom and/or the Caribbean.
R.J. Bartlett Engineering Ltd. completed an inspection of the properties following a review of drawings and a review of some model North American Building Codes as well as the existing Barbados Building Code. The mandate of R.J. Bartlett Engineering Ltd. was to provide a fire protection engineering opinion on fire safety for occupants based on the intent of model North American Building Codes and the existing Barbados Building Code.
